THE GENDER FLIP OF DR. SMITH IN THE NETFLIX REBOOT “LOST IN SPACE”



Parker Posey is quite a famous name and those who know her, know the fact too that she is called “the indie queen” for all the right reasons. There’s no doubt in the fact that Netflix did a great job by coming up with the reboot of “Lost In Space” but one thing that was questionable was the fact that the character of Dr. Zachary Smith got gender-flipped and Parker Posey was called to play that role.

It was definitely weird news for all the Dr. Smith fans outside but now if you watch the reboot series, you will see that Parker Posey is no doubt nailing the role. She is playing the perfect compassionate villain and people are just loving her acting skills. In fact, there was this website that stated;
“If anyone can play selfishly evil and funny at the same time, it’s Parker Posey.”

As far as Posey herself is concerned, well, she also felt quite nostalgic when she was approached for the role and it was quite a challenge for her. In an interview she told;
“In the recreation of [Lost In Space], I hope it brings in all those feelings that those good shows that I loved as a kid … cause I loved shows that had kids in them that were feeling something … that were misfits or different.” - Parker Posey 
For those who don’t know, Jonathan Smith was the one who played Dr. Smith in the original series of Lost In Space. He was the one who brought a comedy touch to this character and ever since Dr. Smith is known as the funny, evil and selfish person who only cares about himself.

Now, before you watch the show, let us warn you about two things that you will just fall in love with. First, it will be Parker Posey herself playing the evil comedian, you are going to love her! Secondly, the most attractive thing is her outfits. Yes, you read it right, especially the Parker Posey Lost In Space black jacket is something to die for. All her outfits are doing justice to the character of Dr. Smith and trust us on this that once you start watching the series on Netflix, you won’t feel weird about the gender-flipping part about Dr. Smith’s character.

From the Dr.Zachary Smith Lost In Space leather jacket to Maureen Robinson’s outfits, each and everything is designed with perfection and after you start watching the 2018 series, you will know that yes, it’s worthy of your time.
